The Headline Doesn't Tell the Story
Imagine my surprise when I read
Gerber Recalls Machetes Due to Laceration Hazard
I always thought that machetes are SUPPOSED to lacerate stuff, and to whom is a baby food company selling machetes?
It turns out that Gerber, not the baby food company, which BTW, does not manufacture machetes, is actually Gerber Legendary Blades, of Portland, Ore. They make all kinds of sharp objects that you can't take on an airplane.
The laceration hazard occurs when the blade snaps off the handle during use. Great product design: let's design and manufacture (in China) a 16" knife with a crappy handle and see what happens. Gerber is "sorry for the inconvenience".
